Nourish + Basecamp Mashup

by Matt Browne

We are big fans of 37 Signals’ products, specifically Basecamp. The most common request we get from our clients using Basecamp is that they never know when to-do list items are complete. Enter Nourish.

If you have followed our blog, you know we recently launched an RSS to email service called Nourish. Because 37 Signals builds every product they have with RSS feeds, it makes Nourish a perfect vehicle to deliver updates for our clients automatically.

Here is how we have ‘mashed up’ Nourish + Basecamp to provide a better service for our clients who don’t regularly subscribe to RSS feeds. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Sign up for a free Nourish account.
  2. Set up a campaign called Basecamp Updates
  3. Grab the RSS feed from Basecamp
  4. Make a list of people who should get the updates
  5. Set the delivery for daily (you can do weekly or monthly)

Now our clients get updates daily with what items have been completed. No more emails asking, “Is this done yet?”. Can you digg it?

We hope you find the Nourish + Basecamp mashup useful. We are always interested in creative ways our clients use our products. If you are using Nourish to in a unique way, we’d love to hear about it. Submit your Nourish Mashup today!

Nourish has launched!

by Chris Abad

The wait is finally over, Nourish has launched! If you’re looking to learn a little bit more about Nourish, head on over to our product tour. If you’ve been sitting by your computer waiting for this announcement, and just can’t wait any longer, you might want to head right over to the pricing and signup page. There are even free accounts available for those of you who just want to take Nourish for a test drive.

Even though we’ve launched, this is only the beginning. We may take a little bit just to catch our breath (and possibly catch up on a little bit of sleep), but things will move pretty quickly after that. Stay tuned to our blog for the latest updates regarding Nourish, as well as our other awesome projects.

New Feature: Auto-Assignment

by Chris Abad

The ability to auto-assign tickets has been a very popular feature request among Ticketish users. Well, here you are. You can now auto-assign tickets, and its as simple as sending an email:

[project]+[user]@[account_name].ticketi.sh

Let me take a minute to explain this one. Every project in Ticketish has its own unique email address to automatically accept tickets via email. For example, our Ticketish support email address is:

ticketish@integralimpressions.ticketi.sh

To have Ticketish auto-assign the ticket, simply use Plus Addressing. Add a plus sign after the name of the project, followed by the name of the user you want the ticket to be assigned to. If I wanted to send in a Ticketish support request, and have it assign to myself, I’d send an email to:

ticketish+cabad@integralimpressions.ticketi.sh

Enjoy, and keep that feedback coming in.

Take Your PIck

by Chris Abad

More choices are almost always better. We realize we have some some programmers out there who just aren’t into the marketing thing, or some users of our products who really just want to stay up-to-date on the latest features. We’ve performed some slice-n-dice ninja action on our RSS feed just for those people. We’re pleased to offer separate feeds for each of our blog categories:
  • Behind the Scenes – Quick updates about what goes on over here.
  • Code – For those of you who know your objects from your iterators. Most of the time we’ll be talking about our web framework of choice, Ruby on Rails.
  • Design – Here we share our thoughts on design-related topics such as usability , information architecture, and interface design.
  • Marketing – Internet marketing is at the core of what we do here. We’ll pass along theories, ideas, tips, and tricks that will hopefully benefit you in your own marketing efforts.
  • Products – If you use any of our products, and want to stay up-to-date on the latest changes and enhancements, this is the place for you.

If you’re the kind of person that just wants it all, our main feed, which is a combination of all the feeds listed above, is still around.

Nourish Launching Soon

by Chris Abad

I’d like to first thank all of you who have been patiently awaiting the launch of Nourish. I know some of you are getting a little anxious, judging by the emails we’ve received. Unfortuately it’s taken us much longer than originally anticipated, but only because we want to make sure we’re releasing a quality application to the public.

So after much anticipation, I no longer have to respond to the question “When is Nourish going to launch?” with “Soon.” We have a launch date: November 26, 2007. That right, you heard it here first. Barring any sort of natural disaster, catastrophic emergency, or apocalypse, we will be launching Nourish a week from tomorrow.

For those of you who want to get a Nourish account as soon as they are available, be sure to leave us your email address. We’ll shoot you an email as soon as we launch.

Outlandish Screencasts

by Chris Abad

We seem to be on a screencast trip lately. We’ve added a resources section to the Outlandish site. The most significant change here is the page of screencasts.

These screencasts are quick video clips which help illustrate some of the most important tasks you’ll need to understand to manage your landing pages in Outlandish. If you’re having trouble watching the screencasts, make sure you have the latest version of Flash installed.
